   We wanted to give you an idea of what to expect when you come in. When you first arrived we will give you a short tour and ask you a few questions to help us better know your needs. The more we know what you want out of you Mastering MMA experience the better we can make use of your time with us.

    If you haven't already signed up for a membership, we will be going over options with you. depending on the situation we might go over it right after you try a class or we might do it another day. We Will get to it, so relax and have a fun experience 

   Now the most common question is what do you need for day one. Day one you need to have athletic wear. Just make sure it's something you can comfortably move around in that doesn't have any sharp buttons or zippers or anything of that nature. Basketball shorts and a t-shirt are perfect for this. On top of that you will need a mouthpiece. You can buy them super cheap at Walmart or Target or anywhere that carry Sporting Goods. That being said I would recommend going ahead and spending a few dollars more for one that comes with a warranty and it will also feel better in your mouth. When the weather is nice we do some fitness  classes outside so bring shoes for that. Other than that cups and hand wraps are optional. If you already have gloves shin guards or a gi go ahead and bring them as well. If you don't have those things we have some that we can loan you until you decide that this is really what you want to do.

   The most important thing to bring on day one is an open mind and a little bit of excitement.

   If you are a little nervous that is fine, most people are because this isn't inside of most people's comfort zone. Just know we are going to do everything we can to make this an excellent experience for you. You should be very proud of yourself for stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing what most won't. We look forward to seeing you and we are very excited for you to start your journey. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

AGREEMENT

For Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver, and Indemnity

I, {name} (“Participant”), desire to participate in mixed martial arts, training, classes, events, and other activities provided by Mastering MMC, LLC, to its members (these activities collectively referred to herein as “MMA”). In consideration of being allowed to participate in MMA, I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions: 

NOTICE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

MMA is a recreational activity. By signing below, I acknowledge and understand that there are inherent and other risks involved in MMA and that MMA is a potentially hazardous activity. I expressly acknowledge and understand that participating in MMA could result in permanent or catastrophic injury, including death. I voluntarily and expressly assume the risk of all injuries or death which may occur while participating in MMA. 

I understand that MMA involves strenuous physical activity. I certify that I am in good health and that I do not suffer from any physical or mental condition(s) that may affect my ability to safely participate in MMA. I understand that participation could result in sickness, bodily injury, partial and/or total disability, paralysis, and/or death. These risks and dangers may be caused by my action, inaction, or negligence, or by the action, inaction, or negligence of other participants, instructors, and employees. I also expressly acknowledge that injuries received may be compounded or increased by first aid provided by Mastering MMA, LLC, its members, managers, agents, and employees.

NOTE: Pregnant women should not participate in MMA. Individuals with back problems, heart conditions, or other ailments that may prevent them from safely participating in MMA should likewise abstain. If you have any questions about your ability to safely participate in MMA, please consult a doctor prior to signing up.

MMA involves the use of equipment. I acknowledge and understand that there are certain risks associated with using such equipment and participating in MMA. The equipment is to be used only as instructed. Misuse of equipment may result in permanent, catastrophic injury, or even death. By signing below, I voluntarily and expressly assume the risk of all injuries or death resulting from my use of equipment.

I certify that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and will comply with all instructions and safety requirements for participating in MMA. I understand that failure to follow instructions and safety requirements may result in serious injury and/or death.

WAIVER & RELEASE

I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, and DISCHARGE Mastering MMA, LLC, including its members, managers, agents, and employees, and any promoters, event inspectors, underwriters, and consultants, from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages for any personal injury, including my death, or property damage arising out of participation in MMA and/or occurring at Mastering MMA, LLC’s, facilities.

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

In consideration of the use of Mastering MMA, LLC’s, facilities, I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Mastering MMA, LLC, its members, managers, agents, and employees from any liabilities, losses, attorneys’ fees, and court costs that may result from any claims or causes of action by me which arise from the use of Mastering MMA, LLC’s, facilities. Additionally, I agree that any dispute under this agreement or the use of Mastering MMA, LLC’s, facilities shall be litigated in the courts of Harrisonburg-Rockingham County, Virginia. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If any portion of this agreement is held invalid, it is agreed that the remainder of the agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND VOLUNTARILY ACCEPT AND AGREE TO ITS TERMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, I WAIVE CERTAIN RIGHTS AND DO SO FREELY, WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME. I COMPLETELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY RELEASE MASTERING MMA, LLC, FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
